Leo Baeck Day School

The Leo Baeck Day School is the only Reform Jewish day school in Canada. There are two campuses, one on Atkinson Avenue in Thornhill and one at Holy Blossom Temple in Toronto. More than 800 children, from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8, are engaged in an enriched, dual-language program.

The Leo Baeck Day School, together with families, professionals and Board members, creates a learning environment in which each student experiences a multi-faceted educational program addressing individual needs and preparing them to be practising liberal Jews, able to participate effectively in a complex, ever-changing Canadian society.

Our campus at Holy Blossom Temple includes Senior Kindergarten to Grade 8. Individual learning styles are recognized and fostered. General and Hebrew/Judaic studies are taught through an inquiry-based model; music, art and drama enrich and infuse our entire program; computer skills are taught and technology is integrated throughout.

All studies are infused with the study of Tefillah and Israel, and the observance of Jewish holidays, High Holy Days and other holidays, Kabbalat Shabbat and Jewish values. Our students participate with students from other day schools in community-wide Zimriya, Erev Shira, Rikudiya, athletic events, and in Temple activities with students in Holy Blossom’s Religious School. We value our affiliation with the Progressive Association of Reform Day Schools, UJA Federation/Mercaz and the five Reform congregations represented on our Board of Trustees.
