Welcome
to Holy Blossom Temple on-line. Before you look beyond this page, let
me say a word about the synagogue — and this synagogue in
particular. No other place, no other culture,
bolsters Jews, builds character and betters religious community as
does the synagogue. No other institution provides deep and broad
learning about the world as does the synagogue. No other institution
brings Jews together in prayer, in a longing of hope and humility,
as does the synagogue. No place can so persuade Jews that service to
God and to others is the best nourishment for a hungry soul as does
the synagogue. |
No other institution can make the
case that these things form a coherent world view; a compelling
reason for belief and clarity about how to act as a Jew. No other
institution can so counter the fragmentation in the world about us
and inside us as can the synagogue.
This is our aim at Holy
Blossom Temple: to sustain and better this vibrant synagogue
community, now over 150 years old, to respond to the compelling needs of our time
and our place — a time and place when Jews must not shrink away out
of fear, but rather stand tall providing hope at this time.
We have built this Web site as a
fluid and evolving structure. I hope what you see here provides a
window into the world of Holy Blossom Temple. Indeed, I hope this
window serves as an invitation to join us, on-line or in person. Stay
with us to grow in knowledge and in the satisfaction of religious
community.
