Lindi Rivers came to
Holy Blossom Temple in the fall of 2005 to
substitute for Cantor Maissner who was preparing to
take a four-month sabbatical. As a Cantorial
Soloist, she now assumes the position of part-time
Chazzan Sheini, while continuing her studies
with Cantor Maissner. Lindi began her career as a
Cantorial Soloist at Temple Sinai, then had the
honour of fulfilling this role at Temple Anshe
Sholom in Hamilton for two years. She has been a
guest Cantorial Soloist in various congregations in
Southern Ontario, as well as at Temple Sholom in
Vancouver. |
| Lindi sang for many
years with the Temple Sinai choir, and subsequently
with the Temple Sinai Ensemble Choir, the latter
under the direction of Judy Adelman Gershon. Currently,
Lindi sings with Lachan Jewish Chamber Choir, under
the direction of Cantor Benjamin Maissner.
Lindi holds a Master of Social Work degree from
the University of Toronto and worked for 17 years as
a psychotherapist before deciding to focus solely on
her Cantorial career. Lindi and her husband, Dr.
Stephen Rivers are parents to Camilo, Sophie and
Talia.
