Holy Blossom Temple

Benjamin Applebaum, Holy Blossom Temple’s Executive Director, is our Chief Operating Officer, responsible for all aspects of the Temple’s administration.

Before joining Holy Blossom in 2002, Benjamin spent 17 years at the Bank of Montreal, most recently as the senior executive responsible for the Bank’s Institutional Trust and Global Custody business. A graduate of the Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto, Benjamin studied mathematics at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario.

Shelly Berenbaum, Holy Blossom Temple’s Office Manager, directs the Temple’s administrative responsibilities.

Before joining Holy Blossom, in 1996, Shelly was a hands-on busy mother of four. A graduate of Northview Heights Secondary School, Shelly received her Bachelor of Arts from York University.

Shelly is a “Red Hatter” in her spare time and enjoys travel, family and community.

Robert Carnevale is HBT’s Manager of Member Communications, directing all design and delivery of Temple messaging.

Previous to “Life at Holy Blossom”, Robert’s held managerial marketing positions at various NFPs and colleges, including Centennial College and York University.

Robert earned a Masters of Studies from University of Oxford in the UK, and when not at HBT, or online for HBT, can be found with his family hunting for Art Deco offline.

Janice Feuer is HBT’s Director of Development, directing fundraising efforts in support of achieving the goals that the Temple community sets for itself now and for the future.

Before joining the team at Holy Blossom, Janice worked as a teacher, most recently at the Leo Baeck Day School South Campus. Both her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees were awarded by the University of Manitoba.

Janice’s spare time is spent enjoying her family, word games, cooking, and reading.

Loriellen is the newest member of the Holy Blossom team, having joined in 2011.  Before joining Holy Blossom, Loriellen actively worked in the Jewish community for over ten years, most recently at the United Jewish Appeal of Greater Toronto (UJA).

Prior to her life working in the Jewish community, Loriellen obtained a Culinary Management degree from George Brown College and worked for a major national food retailer for a number of years.

When not assisting members of HBT, Loriellen is the quintessential “Sports Mom”, cheering on her family at their hockey, soccer and basketball games.

Chello has been in charge of the Holy Blossom Temple and Holy Blossom Temple Foundation financial operations since joining the team in December 2002. Chello is also the site IT Manager working with the Temple IT service providers and supporting the Temple and Foundation staff.

Prior to joining Holy Blossom, Chello had a long career with IBM Canada in various roles and management. Chello is a Chartered Accountant by profession.
